The compression strength of a VIP relies heavily on its core material. At Zerothermo, we refine the internal matrix of fumed silica using advanced engineering methods. Under a vacuum pressure of less than 1 mbar, the atmospheric load exerts an external pressure of approximately 100 kPa (10 tonnes/m²) directly onto the panel core. To resist this baseline pressure and remain stable under dynamic loads, the core must maintain its structural shape.
Through nano-porous structuring and sintering techniques, our panels achieve compression strength up to 250 kPa - 300 kPa (at 10% deformation), which is more than double the capabilities of standard fiberglass or open-cell polyurethane VIPs.
