Driven by rigorous international climate policies, soaring energy costs, and the absolute necessity of carbon neutrality, traditional insulation materials (such as polyurethane, expanded polystyrene, and mineral wool) are reaching their physical limits. For modern green buildings, electric vehicles, and high-performance cold chain applications, traditional materials require excessive thicknesses, reducing valuable usable space.
Custom Silver Insulation Boards (often referred to as Vacuum Insulation Panels, or VIPs, wrapped with high-reflectivity silver metalized or PET films) are the absolute pinnacle of current insulation technology. By creating an internal vacuum core (typically composed of fumed silica or high-density glass fibers) and sealing it within a gas-tight composite film, these panels effectively eliminate convective heat transfer. The silver metallic outer skin provides an additional layer of protection, reflecting radiative heat energy and establishing an ultra-low thermal conductivity profile down to 0.0015 - 0.004 W/(m·K).
Historically, the core of vacuum insulation panels was made of fiberglass. While fiberglass core panels offer low initial cost and high thermal performance, they are highly sensitive to moisture and mechanical puncture. If the vacuum barrier of a fiberglass VIP is compromised, its thermal conductivity can jump from 0.002 W/(m·K) to over 0.020 W/(m·K) instantly.
Modern commercial specifications increasingly demand Fumed Silica Core Technology. Fumed silica features a microporous structure with an average pore size smaller than the mean free path of air molecules at atmospheric pressure (approximately 70 nanometers). Because of this unique structure, even if the outer barrier is slightly compromised and internal pressure increases to atmospheric level, the thermal conductivity remains exceptionally low (typically around 0.018 - 0.020 W/(m·K)), preventing catastrophic insulation failure. This provides a long-term, stable, and resilient insulation profile that lasts up to 50 years in building envelopes.

No. Vacuum insulation panels cannot be cut, drilled, or nailed on-site because doing so will puncture the vacuum barrier, causing immediate loss of insulation performance. Every panel size and shape must be pre-engineered, designed, and custom-manufactured in our factory according to customer drawings.
