What makes fumed silica cores superior to fiberglass cores in Vacuum Insulation Panels?
Fumed silica features a much smaller pore size (approximately 10–20 nm) compared to fiberglass. This configuration allows fumed silica VIPs to maintain low thermal conductivity (around 0.005 W/m·K) even if internal vacuum pressures drop slightly over time. Additionally, fumed silica is non-combustible and has an expected service life of over 50 years, compared to the faster degradation profile of fiberglass cores.
How thin can these high-performance insulation panels be manufactured?
Depending on application demands (such as EV battery thermal barriers), custom panels and blankets can be engineered starting from 5mm. For architectural wall elements, panels typically range from 15mm to 50mm, delivering equivalent insulation performance to standard insulation materials that are five times thicker.
Can Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIPs) be cut or adjusted on-site?
No. Because VIPs rely on an internal vacuum within a sealed envelope, they cannot be cut, drilled, or punctured during installation. Any damage to the barrier envelope will result in loss of vacuum and an increase in thermal conductivity. Custom dimensions and shapes (including corner cutouts and holes) must be engineered and fabricated during production.
What temperature limits can your nano-microporous mats withstand?
Our high-temperature flexible nano-microporous blankets are designed to withstand continuous operating temperatures up to 1000°C. They are widely utilized in industrial furnaces, laboratory equipment, elevator fireproof doors, and new energy vehicle battery cells.
