Nano Microporous insulation materials operate by manipulating thermodynamic transfer principles at the molecular level. Standard insulation operates by trapping air inside pockets. However, at temperatures exceeding 600°C, radiant and convective heat transfer modes dominate. Nano microporous panels are manufactured from fumed silica particles, which create micropores with a diameter average of less than 20 nanometers.
This structure exploits the Knudsen Effect: when the average diameter of the material's pores is smaller than the mean free path of gas molecules (approximately 70nm for air at standard temperature and pressure), gas molecules cannot transfer heat through collisions. Convective heat transfer is effectively eliminated. Furthermore, custom opacifiers are integrated within our matrix to reflect infrared radiation, resulting in a thermal conductivity value as low as 0.018 W/m·K at high temperatures.
