Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIPs) represent a quantum leap in material science. By evacuating the internal atmospheric gases from a microporous core material (such as fumed silica or fiberglass) and sealing it inside an impermeable barrier envelope, thermal conductivity ($\lambda$) is reduced to less than 0.004 W/m·K. This is roughly five to ten times more efficient than traditional insulation.

What is the thermal conductivity of your Fumed Silica Vacuum Insulation Panels?
Our fumed silica VIPs deliver a thermal conductivity of 0.004 to 0.005 W/m·K. Under typical operating conditions, they maintain high performance for decades, outperforming traditional PU or mineral wool panels.
Can VIP panels be cut or drilled during on-site building installation?
No. Vacuum insulation panels cannot be cut, drilled, or modified on-site. Altering the barrier envelope releases the internal vacuum, raising thermal conductivity back to that of the core material (about 0.020 W/m·K). We provide detailed shop drawings and custom sizes to fit your exact layouts before production.
How does humidity affect the lifespan of fumed silica core VIPs?
Fumed silica is naturally hydrophobic. Compared to fiberglass cores, fumed silica core VIPs handle moisture infiltration much better, maintaining their low thermal conductivity over a longer service life. This makes them ideal for humid architectural envelopes and cold chain applications.
