Proper physical protection from puncture and mechanical shear is essential to achieve this lifespan.
No, vacuum insulation panels (VIPs) cannot be cut, trimmed, or drilled after production, as this releases the vacuum and lowers the thermal performance to that of the non-vacuum core material. All dimensions, shapes, and pass-through holes must be specified during the CAD design phase prior to factory production.
Fumed silica core VIPs are highly stable, non-toxic, and retain their vacuum longer when exposed to minor humidity levels compared to fiberglass cores. Fumed silica also has a higher density and provides Class A fire safety ratings, making it the preferred choice for green construction projects and high-value vaccine logistics.
Our factory can produce fumed silica and nano microporous panels in thicknesses ranging from 5mm up to 50mm. Standard thicknesses include 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, and 25mm, depending on thermal resistance (R-value) targets and spatial constraints.
